Description
Golden Retriever Cavalier
Due to a sad change in personal circumstances we are helping family rehome a beautifully affectionate Male Golden Retriever Cavalier , named Peanut or PKwho is an 13mth old, micro chipped, vaccinated and NOT desexed and as he comes from a line of fine breeds he could be used to make more adorable Golden Retrievers Cavalier with those big eyes and red hair, he is the cutest….
PK is a mixed breed dog, a cross between the Golden Retriever and King Charles Cavalier dog breeds. He is so Sweet, playful, and so very intelligent when he isn’t being a puppy. he has thoughinherited the best of the qualities of each breed from both of pure parents retrospectively
PK had been staying with us for a few weeks now and connected with our 2 cats and elderly (17yrs) old Pugalier straight off; he has loved every friends dog, big or small that we could introduce him to. At the dog park he wants to be everyone’s friend and never tires of running with dogs big or small, I get exhausted watching him, but he is always hassle free, comes when called, sits when instructed and loves loves loves the car ride. Unlke our Pug he loves water and although we haven’t had the chance he did love the beach which was a thing as was camping which he did once or twice as a puppy with his human mum.
He is super affectionate and extra playful, love tug of war the most and ball fetching, currently trying to teach him frisbee.
You haven’t had a hug till you have been hugged by PK…. you would think he is human with his head on your shoulder and all… heart melting. He will make a top notch family dog. He will want to be involved in all of your daily activities, whether that’s snuggling and lounging on the couch or heading out on hikes and running errands. He wants to be where you are and has lots of energy to keep up. with love to boot.
He does the essentials, sits, waits to eat, is house toilet trained (he even tried to copy cats …. that didn’t end well but was very very funny to watch)but like most puppies he still needs training in other thing.
We have taught him a bit in the few weeks he has been with us and he is a super quick learner and now automatically takes himself outside if he has done a ‘bad puppy thing’. Although it’s often hard to not laugh at his cute antics when it should be a teachable moment.
My puppy research tells me that as a puppy changing homes and circumstances can make them feel insecure, especially losing the first human since leaving the litter so soon and then changing homes and routine, so a lot of the training goes out the window and poor PK has had an upsetting few weeks;
which is why we would love to find his forever home sooner rather than later…. Sadly we can’t keep him. we are away from home too much to give him the time and attention he needs and deserves. and we would love see with a new family soon so he isn’t again having to fall in love with a family and be moved. You need to be committed to being his forever home.
HE IS NOT AN APARTMENT LIVING KIND OF DOG…. As much as he loves snuggles he loves running around more.
We have not had an opportunity to test him with any children of any age, but it would be fair to say that because he still technically a puppy and is a medium sized dog who gets excited easily and jumps around he would not be good with toddlers or small children. not because of any intentionally misharm or aggression but because rather the opposite of showing too much love and happiness for them in his clumsy way. therefore until you have tested and trained him i wouldn’t leave him alone with children. There is nothing worse than seeing a dog punished for a human mistake and lack of responsibility. if you do have children please please ensurei you are responsible till you are 100% sure.We wont rush this process for PK as much as we won’t to find his forever home & family so he can feel secure and continue with his training and giving his special kind of love with his new family.
We are in Craigieburn Victoria and any transport costs associated with the sale can be discussed as can the price. We would like to sell him locally so we can keep an eye on him but. i’m told that’s creepy so if you agree to some conditions like showing us pictures of his outdoor space….we would be doing his first owner a huge dishonour if we gave him to ‘just anyone’…
You are welcome to come and meet him before fully committing, but will only be permitted to visit here in our yard ONLY…. So if you have ill intention don’t waste our time or your own…. yes we have been warned about dog napping in these situations & we have heeded the warnings and are prepared…. sorry good people i had to get that out.. thank you for understanding….
hope to talk soon Trish, Peanut & family…. please reach out through the site prefers method of contact.
I’m not sure how to post pictures as soon as i work out I will but please enquire and I will happily send
